FAQ

  1. What precautions do you take to prevent the spread of infections?
I follow the guidelines required by the State of Texas. This includes washing files and implements in warm soapy water, disinfecting with an EPA-registered, hospital grade disinfectant and sterilizing metal implements. I also use single use liners in my foot bath.
  2. Do you use a nail drill (e-file)?
Currently I only use the drill when doing backfills & buffing. I do the majority of filing by hand. Like any tool, nail drills are safe when used correctly. My job is to make sure that your natural nail is only etched the minimum amount necessary to obtain a good bond with the acrylic. Improper filing either by hand or with an e-file by a careless technician can cause damage to your natural nail.
  3. Why are your prices higher than the nail salon on the corner?
My prices reflect the high quality products used, the proper sanitation required by the state and the time and skill required to provide safe, beautiful nail enhancements. I also guarantee that your nails will still look beautiful when you come in for regular maintenance every 2-3 weeks.
  4. Do you do “solar nails”?
Yes; I do the pink and white acrylics (aka solar nails). The acrylic liquid that I use has UV protection in it to prevent yellowing which is the claim to fame of the original CND Solar Nail liquid.
  5. Do you do silk or fiberglass wraps?
I do not use the traditional system of nail wraps with the resin & fabric. I use a hybrid system from BackScratchers® called Extreme Glaze™ that has the resin from traditional wraps but instead of fabric uses a powder dip. This creates an enhancement that is stronger than traditional nail wraps but doesn’t irritate individuals sensitive to nail liquid.
  6. Do you do “gel” nails?
Not at this time; but I am researching the varied gel systems and may offer them in the future.
